The Brief

War Games is a five-part series for Sky, produced in partnership with Tortoise Media, that follows COBRA-style emergency simulations, with senior advisors role-playing high-stakes scenarios in real time. Filmed across four separate rooms at Oxford University, the production required a complex, discreet technical infrastructure capable of capturing everything simultaneously without disrupting the simulations taking place.

What We Delivered

SWITCHLIVE, working alongside Spiritland Productions, designed and delivered the full technical production. Each of the four rooms was linked to a central control hub, with all cameras operated remotely to keep crew presence minimal and the simulations as authentic as possible.

32 microphones were multi-tracked across all spaces, with each channel timecode-stamped for clean post-production sync. Live broadcast mixes were delivered from the hub in real time, and discreet wireless comms with room-specific listens kept the production team coordinated without ever entering the frame.

All footage was delivered directly to Sky for editorial use.

A genuinely complex, high-stakes production — captured with broadcast precision and total discretion.
